River City Bank is devoted to the communities where our clients and employees live and work. Beyond our daily dedication to providing concierge services to clients, we also have a vested interest in the economic health of our local communities. We continually offer financial knowledge and training to community leaders, and our support of local non-profit organizations is an essential value within our corporate culture. The bank is committed to responsibly support housing for low-to-moderate income families.
In addition, River City Bank provides funding to a myriad of non-profit organizations through the Kelly Foundation, a non-profit organization that was started by River City Bank’s founder, Jon S. Kelly. The Kelly Foundation is an expression of the importance the Kelly family places on being a good neighbor and citizen in the Sacramento region. The Foundation’s Chairman is Shawn Kelly Devlin (daughter of Jon Kelly) who also is Chairman of River City Bank. A number of the Bank’s executive team members are on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, as is one of the Bank’s outside directors. The Sacramento Business Journal recognized the Kelly Foundation as the 3rd largest Corporate Foundation in the greater Sacramento Region in 2023.
The Foundation provides grants to various charitable organizations in the community, including educational institutions, hospitals, cultural activities, health and human services, as well as organizations that benefit children. Every year, the Kelly Foundation awards a major gift in the amount of $100,000, in addition to other grants awarded throughout the year. Recent recipients include: The American Red Cross, Saint John’s Program for Real Change, and Meristem.
River City Bank officers and employees are equally passionate about giving back to the community. Bank officers serve on a number of boards and in leadership and advisory capacities for community development organizations which serve the greater Sacramento area, including the Kelly Foundation, California Capital Financial Development Corporation, WarmLine Family Resource Center, Sacramento Child Advocates, Easter Seals, and the Sacramento Regional Community Foundation. River City Bank employees have donated over 4,200 volunteer hours from 2015-2022 to over 30 organizations in the region.
