Powering Progress Celebrating 10 Years of CalCCA
CalCCA’s 2026 Annual Conference, supported by presenting sponsors River City Bank and SMUD, brought together more than 1,000 attendees from across the energy sector, featuring over 70 speakers who explored the challenges and opportunities shaping California’s energy landscape. Sessions covered key topics including customer affordability, clean energy financing, and emerging technologies. The goal was clear: to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and drive solutions that will shape the next decade.
This year’s conference was especially meaningful as it marked CalCCA’s 10-year anniversary, a milestone reflecting a decade of leadership, progress, and meaningful collaboration. Beth Vaughan, CEO of CalCCA, along with the entire CalCCA team, delivered an outstanding event that celebrated how far the organization and its members have come.

That progress is rooted in the early 2010s, when Community Choice Energy began gaining momentum through collaboration among agencies, partners, and communities. A small group of leaders from the state’s first CCAs came together to share ideas, navigate challenges, and shape a path forward. From those early efforts grew a broader movement, with CalCCA at its center, continuing today to support its members and advance innovative energy solutions across California.
Strong partnerships have played an important role throughout that journey, including CalCCA’s long-standing relationship with River City Bank and its collaboration with SMUD, both of which supported this year’s conference and continue to help advance CalCCA’s mission as it continues to expand its impact.
Congratulations to CalCCA on 10 years of remarkable achievement and continued leadership in shaping California’s clean energy future.
